Decision-Based Compliance Scenario

This example showcases Interactivate’s approach to decision-based learning for compliance topics that require judgment rather than memorization. The scenario demonstrates how branching interactions can be used to reinforce policy understanding without introducing unnecessary complexity or entertainment-driven mechanics.

Golden Justice Scales

Design Challenge

Compliance topics often involve situational nuance, yet many training programs default to static content followed by multiple-choice quizzes. The challenge was to design an interaction model that allows learners to practice decision-making in realistic contexts while remaining appropriate for regulated environments.

Design Approach

The scenario presents learners with a series of context-rich situations that mirror real workplace decisions. Each choice leads to consequences that clarify policy intent and reinforce correct reasoning, rather than simply marking answers as right or wrong. Branching paths are intentionally limited to maintain instructional clarity and prevent cognitive overload.

The interaction design prioritizes transparency: learners understand why a decision is appropriate, not just whether it is compliant. This approach supports deeper comprehension while remaining compatible with LMS tracking and completion requirements.

Outcome / Value

This representative scenario demonstrates how Interactivate uses interactivity selectively and purposefully. It highlights an engagement model that supports compliance learning objectives without undermining seriousness, accessibility, or audit readiness.
